I believe that religion as a whole brings more harm into the world than it does good. It is, as far as I can tell, a sociological construct.
What am I not trying to do:
I am not trying to make you lose your faith, perhaps question things around you. There is a balance of good that religion does do and if you take comfort in that I guess I don’t know what to tell you maybe don’t read this blog.
Why am I doing this:
There is a great deal of erasure, oppression, and blind arrogance that I can not simply sit on the sidelines any longer. Through the course of my studies, some mandatory, some not (my father was a United Methodist pastor and I spent a great deal of time in the church. Also, I wrote a book with the same mythological background as the canonical Bible). There are undeniable parallels of stories that existed before the Bible did. With this I want to explore those parallels.
Statement:
The Bible was compiled by man, written by man and not divinely inspired nor is it infallible. How do I know this? Too many things existed before it did that it copied.
Important:
If you think the Earth is only six thousand years old or that dinosaurs didn’t exist or that the Earth is flat please just leave. Take yourself away from my articles. This is for people who actually have intelligence and the ability to reason. Thank you.
